Today is the 2-month anniversary of Race4Girls launch. In reflecting on the transformation of this organization in the last 2 months, I am amazed at how it has grown in such a short time. This growth comes from passion – mine and other people who support women in racing.
I talked to Theresa Earnheart (as she says, “the other Theresa Earnheart”) from Track Chic the other day. What an inspiring woman! She has built an amazing online community for women who love racing. I can understand why she is so successful – she is a giver. Within a few days after we spoke she sent me some very valuable information which I knew about but have not employed. Because of her giving heart, Race4Girls will be better.
When I was in the corporate world, it was SO hard to create synergistic partnerships. I’m finding that the racing community is very different and that is quite refreshing! As a testimony to our confidence and passion, several women who have businesses that in some way promote the female factor in racing (fans and drivers) are meeting in Bristol in August to discuss how we can work together for the greater good. I believe with my whole heart that part of the reason this can happen is that culture of racing includes a spiritual element which is completely lacking in the corporate world.
The first 2 months have been amazing. Now on to month three!
